Forest School Awards – Northern Ireland wide application form

Applications are now open covering all of Northern Ireland. If you submitted an application last year and this was not successful, you will have been notified if this has been carried over to this round of funding. Applications will be selected to ensure equal numbers of schools and nurseries getting trained in each Council area. NIFSA have secured funding from the Northern Ireland Environment Agency, Mid-Ulster District Council, Lisburn and Castlereagh City Council, Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council, Fermanagh and Omagh District Council, Belfast City Council, Ards and North Down Borough Council and Drumlin Wind Co-Operative to offer free training and accreditation for schools and nurseries, across Northern Ireland, to gain their official NIFSA Forest School status. Funding is only available to organisations that are not qualified Forest Schools already and are not private businesses.

A fantastic opportunity for schools and nurseries across Northern Ireland to receive Forest School Leader Level 3 training and accreditation, Forest School Starter Kit bag and official NIFSA plaque all absolutely free of charge. 

Not available for organisation’s that are already qualified Forest Schools or private businesses.

NIFSA has secured funding to support approximately 60 schools or nurseries, a year, to receive FREE Forest School training and accreditation.

Once completed, upload and submit your form and somebody from NIFSA will be in touch as soon as they can. Demand is always very high so please allow up to 4 weeks for notification of a decision.

    This is a competitive process and submitted applications are not guaranteed of success.

    IMPORTANT:

    Some funders have specific conditions attached to the application.

    Mid-Ulster District Council stipulate the training is at Ranfurley House, Dungannon. If there are other specific conditions attached you will be informed by a NIFSA member of staff on submission of application form.

    Applications are carried over to subsequent years. So if you have not been successful this year you will be automatically considered the following year, unless advised otherwise.

    If your application has not been successful, NIFSA will inform you what areas could be improved upon. NIFSA has the final decision and there is no right of appeal. You can however submit another application.
