8 April 2025 – Introduction to Forest School for P5

Having enjoyed my first two lessons with Pam from the Forest School Association recently, I introduced P5 to our Forest School at Lisnasharragh Primary School. We began with a tour of the Forest School environment. We followed this up by recapping the Forest School rules and reminding ourselves why these are important. Next, we set up our boundary poles and then practised the whistle rules. I then divided the children of the class into pairs. For the activity itself, I held up flash cards of natural resources. The pairs of children then explored the Forest School to locate the item displayed and return in to me as soon as possible.
