Sensory Poetry
This morning P5 took ourselves into the forest, seeking inspiration! The challenge was to use the forest to inspire just one line of poetry.

We found fungus that reminded the children of caramel-topped pancakes and of course an abundance of colour in the Autumn leaves!
“Berries sparkling like rubies and sapphires in dark hedges.”
“Amber leaves dripping like honey from the trees.”

It always gives me a real sense of joy when children, who find classroom engagement challenging, are inspired to join in in the forest. One little boy (usually a reluctant participant in literacy activities) produced a line of poetry for our collaborative piece, he found an apple on the ground and shouted out “Green apples roll down the hill!”
Another fabulous day in the forest!
