4th April 2025
Today was a bright and sunny day. This was our last Forest School session before Easter so we planned some Easter themed activities. After putting on our waterproof trousers, we gathered at the seating area outside to recap our Forest School rules and explain today’s activities. We then walked up to our site, singing our Forest School song, and laid out the boundary flags. The children were given large Easter egg templates, cut from cardboard. They split into small groups and each group explored the site to find natural materials to fill the template and create beautiful eggs once the template was lifted. The children chose a range of materials to design their eggs – cut grass (mown a few days previously), pine cones, sticks, daisies, stones and much more. When they were finished, each group took time to admire the work of others. The children then had some free time to play. At the end of the session, we ensured that we ‘left no trace’ before returning to school.
