4/9/25 – Learning Styles

Today, P7 went to Six Mile Water River Park for their Forest School session on learning styles. They began by discussing the different ways people learn and were introduced to the four main learning styles: visual, auditory, reading/writing and kinaesthetic.

They then took part in a range of outdoor activities linked to each learning style. Pupils observed and drew natural objects, listened to a chapter from their class novel, completed a scavenger hunt and explored the park on a guided walk. These activities encouraged them to use their senses and reflect on how they learn best.

At the end of the session, the children discussed which activities they enjoyed most and considered which learning style each activity related to. They reflected on their experiences, shared their thoughts with the group and were reminded that everyone learns in different ways.
