4/11/25 – Bridge Building

Today, P7 went to Six Mile Water River Park for their Forest School bridge-building session. They began by revising the different types of bridges they had learned about and took part in a fun warm-up activity where they described and identified bridge structures.

They then worked in groups to design and build their own bridges using natural materials such as sticks, bamboo and string. As they built, they tested and improved their designs to make them strong enough to hold a water bottle.

At the end of the session, each group presented their bridge and explained their design choices. The children reflected on what worked well, the challenges they faced and how teamwork helped them succeed.
