Den building and bug hunting tasks where presented as follow up activities to gain an insight as to what the children’s interests were.

The main activity consisted of bird feeders with KS1 & KS2 stage pupils. As these pupils seemed more confident and able, we used pine cones, lard and bird seed. The children would apply lard onto the pine cones and then roll the pine cones into the bird. The final touch was the addition of string which then would allow their bird feeders to be hung up at home.
