20th March 2026 – International Day of Happiness

Children came dressed to school in clothes that made them happy, for example, their favourite hobby, favourite colour or favourite football team, for International Day of Happiness. The session began by discussing the clothes we had chosen to wear and why. Children then formed groups with other children with similar hobbies or similar things that made them happy. In these groups children then created a scene based on something that makes them happy. Many children enjoy farming so some of the groups created scenes on this: one group created a tractor, one a field with sheep and another a farm with space for feeding the calves. Other groups created a gaming room, a running track, a fairy garden and a person painting a picture. There was brilliant creativity and imagination used. All groups shared what they had created well with others. Good teamwork demonstrated, including when one child got stuck in the mud and others helped him out! Most children said they had a great time. Two children said they had an okay time and reasoned that this was due to another child trying to put mud on them when they did not want him to.
