The children took part in a Forest School lesson exploring opposites in nature using word cards such as big/small, rough/smooth, light/heavy, and wet/dry. Working in small groups, they searched the woodland area to find natural examples that matched each pair, comparing textures, sizes, colours, and shapes as they went. The activity encouraged careful observation, language development, and teamwork, with pupils enthusiastically discussing their findings and justifying why each object represented its chosen opposite. This hands-on exploration helped deepen their understanding of descriptive vocabulary while fostering curiosity and connection with the natural environment.
