14/5/26 Popcorn treat over the fire!

During the forest school session, the children learned about fire safety and the fire triangle. They were introduced to the three elements needed for fire—heat, fuel, and oxygen—and discussed how to stay safe around fires.
The group then took part in a supervised campfire activity, where they used a pan over the fire to make popcorn from corn kernels. This hands-on experience helped them understand how heat changes materials while reinforcing safe behaviour around an open flame. The children showed interest and excitement as they observed the corn popping and enjoyed their freshly made snack.
Throughout the activity, safety rules were followed carefully, and the importance of respecting fire was reinforced.
