10/09/25 – New Class Intro

This week we had our first Forest School session. The weather wasn’t in our favour but that didn’t stop us!!! We talked about what we might wear in the forest and why we wear these clothes. And then we put our waterproofs on and out we went! When we went into the forest we found a note from owl which was very exciting!! We talked about setting boundaries and how this is important to keep both ourselves and our natural environment safe. We listened to the 3 whistle calls (1-freeze 2-come to me 3-go to the listening circle) and learned when we will hear them. But most importantly we learned that forest school is all about having fun and exploring outside while we learn. We spotted some holes and tracks and talked about what animals might live here, played a few listening games and even had some free time at the end to go and explore the area. We finished the session with thumbs up, wiggly thumbs and thumbs down like we do in our classroom. The thumbs down were because we wanted it to be longer!! We can’t wait to next week!!!
