09/01/25 & 10/01/25 – Bird Watch and Bird Feeders

Prior to going outside, we learned how to recognise different birds and the most common birds from our area. We then discussed the importance of bird feeders and the lack of them around our school. Firstly, we went for a walk around our school grounds and decided on the best places to hang feeders. We researched the best feeders and made some. We then hung them around the school. But after checking them the next day, we discovered that some weren’t placed in the best locations or had blown down, so we made new ones using toilet roll tubes and lard. We kept topping these up and then completed the RSPB’s Big Bird Watch.
