P6 STEM: We discussed animals that may be living in or near our forest area, with the knowledge we had from our ‘All Kinds of Animals’ topic, along with footage from the camera trap of badgers, foxes and hedgehogs. We discussed what reasons animals like that would need shelters and recyclable materials we could use to make to shelters. Children designed their shelters in class and then over 2 sessions in the forest school, constructed them in the polytunnel and placed them in hidden, sheltered spots around the forest school area.
