This week’s Forest School session centred on our whole‑school anti‑bullying theme. We explored kindness, empathy, and positive relationships through a creative woodland activity. Children used natural clay to sculpt their own “kindness fairies” or “woodland goblins,” carefully shaping features and adding natural materials such as sticks, leaves, and stones to personalise their creations.
As they worked, learners discussed words and behaviours that help people feel safe, included, and valued. Each child chose a word or message of kindness to inscribe onto their clay figure, reinforcing the idea that positive language can support and uplift others.
Once completed, the children chose a favourite tree within our Forest School area as a central place to display their creations. Placing the figures on and around the tree encouraged a sense of shared purpose and community, symbolising how kindness can grow when we nurture it together.
This activity supported emotional literacy, creativity, and a deeper sense of belonging within the group. It also provided meaningful opportunities for reflection, collaboration, and respectful discussion in an outdoor, child‑led environment aligned with Forest School values.
