Mini beast hunt 24/5/26
he children took part in an engaging mini beast hunt during Forest School, where they explored different outdoor habitats in search of living creatures. They looked under logs, stones and leaves to discover mini beasts such as worms, slugs, spiders, beetles and woodlice. The children used magnifying glasses and collection pots to observe the creatures closely and discussed where mini beasts live and why these environments help them survive.
The activity encouraged curiosity, teamwork and communication as the children worked together to search and share their findings. They also developed an understanding of caring for living things by handling the mini beasts gently and returning them safely to their natural habitats. The session supported outdoor learning, observation skills and confidence while helping to bring our Minibeast topic to life in a fun and practical way.
