8 October 2026 Sticks & Stumps phonological awareness

Phonological Awareness with a Literacy support group. Find ‘two drumsticks’ and drum out syllables on a stump. Use animal names, children’s names and anything they can spot in the Forest. Reminder of rules beforehand and free play afterwards.
All but one child had a great time. One thought it was ok because his sticks broke whilst he was drumming!
