23/10/25 – Autumn Hunt

Today, P1 went on a Signs of Autumn Hunt during their Forest School session. They began by discussing some of the changes we might notice in nature during autumn, including changing leaves, seeds, berries and fallen twigs.

The children then explored the outdoor area using an autumn checklist. As they discovered each item, they carefully observed it and ticked it off their list. They enjoyed searching closely among the trees, plants and forest floor to see how many signs of autumn they could find.

To finish the session, the children gathered together to share what they had discovered. They discussed their favourite finds and talked about the changes they had noticed in the natural environment during autumn and what might change as we move to winter.
