21 February 2025 Feeding the birds

The children had a fantastic time making bird cakes to help feed the birds in our school garden. Using a mix of seeds, wholemeal bread, dried fruit, apples, and cheese, they combined the ingredients with melted lard to create nutritious treats. Once the bird cakes had set, we returned to the garden to hang them up, along with the bird biscuits the children had baked during play-based learning. The children watched eagerly as birds began to visit and enjoy the tasty treats. We spotted lots of feathered friends and even tried to identify some common garden birds together—it was a busy day for our garden visitors!
